How to make a Night Vision Potion in Minecraft
Let’s start by getting the golden carrot, which is the most important part of night vision potions. To make a golden carrot, you will need to gather some carrots. You can find them in villages, on rare occasions when zombies drop them, or in chests in shipwrecks or pillager towers.
Step 1: Find a farm in a village. Carrots are almost always grown on farms in villages. There is a 1 in 5 chance that carrots will grow in the farm plots of every village farm. Carrots are different from other crops because their bottoms are orange and their tops are green with leaves.
Step 2: To make a golden carrot, you will need to find a gold ingot. You can find gold ore anywhere below level “Y.” It can also be found near the surface in badland biomes. Yellow flecks make the ore easy to spot, and you’ll need at least an iron pickaxe to mine it.
Step 3: Turn your gold ore into bars by melting it. Put your gold in a furnace and wait for it to turn into ingots. Read this guide if you want to know how to make a furnace.
Step 4: To make gold nuggets, put an ingot into the crafting menu.
Step 5: To make a golden carrot, put your gold nuggets around a carrot. You now have the main thing you need to make potions that give you night vision. Now all you need is a place to brew. With the drops from blaze enemies and cobblestone, you can make one.
Step 6: To find Blaze, you have to go to the Nether. Place obsidian four blocks wide and five blocks high to make a portal to the Nether.
Step 7: Next, use some flint and steel to light the Nether portal. You will need an iron and a flint to make flint and steel. You can start exploring the nether as soon as you put the flint and iron ingot into your crafting menu in any of the nine crafting slots.
Step 8: To light your portal, make sure you light one of the obsidian blocks inside it. Then, stand in the portal for a few seconds and be ready to face the fiery depths of the nether.
Step 9: Now you have to find a Nether Fortress. Some of these fortresses are very rare, and if you’re lucky, your portal will appear right on top of one.
Step 10: You’ll know you’ve found your fortress when you find a red or purple brick. The next thing you’ll need to do is find the blazes that pop up randomly in the fortress. If you’re lucky enough to find one, a blaze spawner can make your life much easier.
Step 11: Just kill enough blaze to get a good amount of blaze rods. For the brewing stand, you will need at least one blaze rod, and any extras can be used as fuel for the brewing stand itself. So make sure to find more blaze rods.
Run around your fortress until you find a staircase with red fungus and soul sand growing on it. You will need this nether wart to make your night vision potion.
Once you have everything you need, go somewhere safe and then back to your crafting table. You can make a brewing stand by putting your blaze rod and three pieces of cobblestone on a crafting table.
Step 12: Your brewing stand will need some blaze powder in order to work. To make blaze powder, just put a blaze rod in your crafting menu. Each blaze rod will yield two blaze powder.
Step 13: Open the UI of your brewing stand by right-clicking on it. To fuel your brewing stand, put your blaze powder in the top left slot.
Step 14: You will also need some bottles made of glass. Sand can be melted in a furnace to make glass, and glass bottles can be made by putting three pieces of glass in a “V” shape in a crafting menu.
Step 15: Right-click any water source with your glass bottles to fill them up and get water bottles. Right-click your brewing stand and put the water bottles at the bottom.
Step 16: You are almost done! Put your Nether Wart in the last slot and wait for the bottles to fill up. The awkward potion is the base for the night vision potion.
Step 17: Leave the weird potions at the bottom and grab your golden carrot. Put it in the same place as the nether wart. When the bottles are full, you’ll have three night-vision potions.
That’s all! Your night vision potions last for three minutes and let you see as well in caves, underwater, the Nether, and other dark places as if it were a bright day. These potions can help you find ore, see forts from far away, and find shipwrecks and temples that are underwater.
