How do I join Minecraft Realms?
Because Minecraft Realms is a significant revenue source for developers, they have designed a simplified system to help you get on board. The Java Edition’s opening screen will allow you to purchase a Realms server.
- You can purchase a Realm subscription or Realm Plus subscription for the Bedrock edition in the world creation settings. When creating or editing an existing world, you will see the “Play on Realm” button.
- When you choose the “Play on Realm”, you will be asked about which type of realm you require: 2 players or 10 slots. If you’re new to Realms, you can get a 30-day free trial when you reach the payment options screen. It seems simple, right? But there is a catch.
Realms can be a costly purchase if you’re running Minecraft Bedrock Edition on consoles. You will need one of these to make it work:
- Xbox Live Gold
- PlayStation Plus, OR
- Nintendo Switch Online
- Windows users will need to ensure that Minecraft is not blocked by firewalls to allow it to work.
